The Estimator role at MK Marlow is responsible for preparing detailed estimates for the scope, cost, materials and labor required for our commercial acoustics and drywall projects. As a member of the MK Marlow team, you will work closely with project managers, clients, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure that all estimates are precise, competitive and in line with our company standards.
Main Responsibilities:
– Analyze and interpret project plans, specifications, proposals and other documentation.
– Prepare detailed estimates and calculations using On Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid.
– Collaborate with suppliers and gather accurate pricing for materials, labor rates and other relevant cost factors.
– Present prepared estimates to clients, answering any questions or concerns they may have.
– Maintain a professional relationship with clients, architects, engineers and subcontractors.
– Regularly review and update cost standards and production rates based on actual projects.
– Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits and conferences as necessary.
– Stay updated on industry trends, technological advances and best practices in commercial acoustics and drywall.
– Once a project is awarded, provide the project manager a clear and concise briefing of the scope, exceptions, values and critical data necessary for project execution.
– Regularly report on potential new projects, the status of current bids and post-bid reviews.
Qualifications:
– Degree in Construction Management, a related field, or equivalent experience.
– A minimum of 3 years’ experience.
– Strong proficiency with estimation software and tools.
– Exceptional analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
– Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
– Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
MK Marlow Company is an established commercial drywall company based in San Antonio, Texas. Our projects span San Antonio, Austin and across South Texas. Salary is based on experience with the range of $70k-$120k, benefits/401K available.
